We are pleased to announce that as of April 4, 2025, Professor Masahiko Nagai* has assumed the role of Chairman of New Space Intelligence, Inc. He currently serves as a professor at the Graduate School of Sciences and Technology for Innovation at Yamaguchi University.
After completing his doctoral studies at the University of Tokyo’s Graduate School of Engineering, Professor Nagai held research and teaching positions at the University of Tokyo and later served as a Senior Researcher at JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency). He was appointed Associate Professor at the University of Tokyo before joining Yamaguchi University in 2016. Throughout his career, he has led advanced education and research in the analysis and application of large-scale geospatial data derived from space infrastructure—including Earth observation, positioning, and communication satellites.
Many of NSI’s founding members came from Professor Nagai’s research laboratory. Building on the research conducted in his lab, we are working to implement space-based technologies in ways that address real-world needs.
With his appointment as Chairman, we will further accelerate our efforts to bridge space technology and real-world impact.
We sincerely appreciate your continued support as we move forward into this new phase.
*He also holds concurrent positions as Director of Yamaguchi University, Center for Research and Application of Satellite Remote Sensing, Visiting Professor at the Asian Institute of Technology School of Engineering and Technology, and Visiting Professor at the Open University of Japan
