New Space Intelligence and Isumi Railway paving the way for a new era

New Space Intelligence Corporation (Head Office: Ube City, Yamaguchi Prefecture; President: Yumiko Nagai, hereinafter referred to as NSI) and Isumi Railway Corporation (Head Office: Isumi District, Chiba Prefecture; President: Koichi Furutake, hereinafter referred to as Isumi Railway)

have concluded a naming rights contract for Kuniyoshi Station. With this naming rights contract, Kuniyoshi Station will start anew as "NSI Kuniyoshi Station."

The contract period is for three years, from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2027, and Kuniyoshi Station

will also be referred to as "NSI KUNIYOSHI" in English.

As part of the Yamaguchi Industrial Innovation Promotion Subsidy for fiscal years 2022 and 2023, NSI selected Isumi Railway as a demonstration field and has been working on the development of a railway infrastructure monitoring system utilizing satellite data. This system detects changes on the ground surface and provides this information as alerts to infrastructure managers. Isumi Railway utilizes this information to improve maintenance operations and expedite disaster recovery.

Currently, NSI is collaborating with Mitsubishi Research Institute, Inc. (President: Kenji Yabuta, hereinafter referred to as MRI) and is developing an innovative monitoring service capable of responding to all situations, including disasters, as part of a commissioned research project by the National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Resilience. Isumi Railway continues to provide ongoing support as a demonstration field in this project as well.

Regarding this naming rights contract, NSI President Yumiko Nagai commented as follows: "I am truly delighted that the railway infrastructure monitoring service handled by NSI has resulted in a naming rights contract at Kuniyoshi Station, with the cooperation of Isumi Railway. At NSI, we provide information services that support our customers' decision-making by utilizing satellite data.

Isumi Railway has given us tremendous support as a demonstration field centered on Kuniyoshi Station in the development of railway infrastructure monitoring. We have visited Kuniyoshi Station many times from Yamaguchi Prefecture and have a strong attachment to the station.

From this Kuniyoshi Station, we dream of starting a new era of railway infrastructure monitoring and spreading our technology worldwide. We will continue our challenges towards this dream and will strive with all our might to meet the support and expectations of everyone.

Furthermore, Isumi Railway President Koichi Furutake commented as follows: "We are deeply grateful to start anew as 'NSI Kuniyoshi Station.' Through this naming rights contract, we aim to deepen the trust we have built so far and contribute to the development of the region together.

The railway infrastructure monitoring system is essential for the safe transportation of local railways like ours, and we are confident that this joint project will become an important tool supporting the region. We kindly ask for everyone's warm support and cooperation in this ongoing challenge.
